Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, McMillen Engineering, Inc. provides professional land surveying services to architects, commercial and industrial developers, private landowners, and government entities. Whether you’re planning a residential or commercial new construction project or need survey work completed for an existing project, McMillen Engineering can help.
Our crew of land surveyors are fully experienced in performing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys to assist in the commercial real estate process. In addition to surveying the land itself, our surveyors can conduct ALTA/NSPS As-Built Land Surveys to determine any improvements or changes that have been made to a piece of land.
Homeowners and mortgage lenders alike often require boundary surveys to protect their investment and avoid legal disputes, so it’s important that survey work is completed by a credible land surveyor. Whether you’re selling, buying, subdividing, or refinancing, McMillen Engineering, Inc. can conduct boundary surveys for property owners or banks to ensure that setback and zoning requirements are met. Land modification projects like adding a fence or a building should also begin with a boundary survey to locate corners and property boundary lines.
McMillen Engineering also completes topographic land surveys to identify natural and man-made land attributes and elevations. The results from these topographic surveys are used by our civil engineers to accurately prepare design work. If you’re already working with an engineering firm but require a topographic survey, we could conduct the survey and provide those results to you.
In addition to carrying out various types of land surveys, our surveyors can also assist in determining whether your property is located within a specified flood zone. A PA Flood Elevation Certificate may be provided to you (if applicable) to assist you with defining your flood insurance policy and cost.
Our land surveying services include:
ALTA/NSPS (Formerly ALTA/ACSM) Land Title Surveys
ALTA/ NSPS (Formerly ALTA/ACSM) As-Built Land Title Surveys
Land boundary survey
Major, minor, and simple subdivisions
Flood Insurance program elevation certificate
STANDARDS OF PRACTICE FOR PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS IN PA
Terry McMillen, Jr. served as the President of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) in 2022. He sat on the Standards of Practice Committee during that time and contributed to the development of the Standards of Practice for Professional Land Surveyors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
These standards were established to assist all professional land surveyors with providing excellence in their practice "with consideration for the health, safety, and welfare of the public."
